The Wilderness First-Responder course is globally recognized as the premier medical standard for a majority of guide agencies, outdoor instructors, research teams, military units, and expert search and rescue crews.

This five-day intensive program adheres to the Wilderness Medical Society (WFS) syllabus. It offers a comprehensive and practical curriculum, covering anatomy and physiology lectures. Participants gain essential fundamentals and skills to assess and manage medical problems in remote and extreme environments with limited resources and potential evacuation challenges. The course’s objective is to equip participants with the knowledge and competence to handle real-life, life-threatening medical issues independently.

Alongside CPR certification, the course features a 24 hours hands-on exercise at our training facility in Hørsholm, which features forest environment. The Wilderness First Responder certificate remains valid for three years, with the option to renew it through Bright Bird’s two-day Wilderness First Responder Recertification course.
