Course overview

Bright Birds presents the RMS Course in Hostile Environment Medicine. This intensive 1-day training is a part of our Remote Medical Support program, crafted with our extensive experience in “medical remote” locations. This specific module is tailored for those who may find themselves in conflict zones, enabling participants to provide critical medical aid during the crucial golden hour. By the end of this course, attendees will be better equipped to address emergency medical situations arising from conflict zone activities and the challenges of disrupted healthcare systems.

Journalists, military personnel, humanitarian workers, expatriates, and anyone who may find themselves in or near hostile environments.

Objective

  • Understand the dynamics of medical emergencies in hostile environments.
  • Master the Primary Survey using the MABCDE approach.
  • Efficiently address gunshot wounds, shrapnel, and combat-related injuries.
  • Provide immediate first aid for blast injuries, including burns, fractures, and traumatic brain injuries.
  • Recognize and manage infections and diseases prevalent in disrupted healthcare systems.
  • Familiarize with telemedical procedures for effective communication during emergencies.
